Mel Kelly has been a passionate Paediatric OT for over 20 years, working in private practice, schools, and early intervention services. More recently she has been working in a tertiary clinical education role, teaching future OTs how to provide client centred, evidence based paediatric assessment and therapy in a face to face, and telehealth setting.
Mel is aware of the need for high-quality, individualised children's occupational therapy services and started Boost OT with a mission to work closely with families to support their children to achieve activities most important to them.
Mel is the Mum to three school aged children and brings extensive clinical experience along with an understanding of current educational settings, and what it means to be a caregiver to little people!
Mel prides herself on building strong, collaborative relationships with children and their families and working together to create meaningful change in their everyday lives. She believes in working with childrens' individual interests and strengths in order to make therapy meaningful and engaging.
Mel understands that being a little person is a big job, and sometimes kids need some support to learn the many new skills that they are expected to keep up with! She also understands that being a parent is a big job and that sometimes, you need an external source of support.
